HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ A drive-by shooting in Hartford has left a man dead.

Hartford police say the victim, a man in his 40s, was standing on Sterling street at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when he was hit by gunfire from a passing car. Police say witnesses reported hearing at least four shots.

The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to Saint Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made.
