Water Fatality In Thompson

A Brooklyn man in his 30s was pronounced dead Tuesday at around 6:45 p.m. at Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam, after he was taken from the waters of Quaddick Lake, Thompson, according to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).

The man had entered the water from private property along the lake around 6 p.m. and soon after witnesses saw him struggling. Bystanders took him from the water and a local EMS unit initiated CPR and transported the man to the hospital.

The fatality is under investigation by DEEP’s Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification to the family.
