BRANFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Officials say a toddler has been killed after he fell from a small bulldozer.
Police say the 21/2-year-old boy apparently was in the presence of his grandfather when the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. Monday in Branford.
Deputy Fire Chief Ronald Mullen says the boy was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital. It wasn’t immediately known if he died while being transported there or after arriving at the hospital.
The child’s name was not released.
Neighbors tell The New Haven Register (http://bit.ly/TbYEhd ) that a group of family members live at the small complex where the accident happened. They say before police and fire officials arrived, they could hear a man and a woman screaming frantically.
Police are investigating what led to the accident.
