Seven Hospitalized In Willimantic Fire

An investigation is underway into a massive fire at a multi family home in Willimantic overnight  that sent seven people to the hospital.

Fire Captain Ron Palmer , Jr. says when firefighters arrived at 62- 64 South Street around 12:30 a.m. this morning, they found  a man who had jumped from the third floor, he told them his wife needed help.  Firefighters got her out and performed CPR, and she was taken to Windham Hospital,  and from there  was flown by LifeStar Helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.   Six other people,  four of them firefighters,  were treated and released.

Smoke and water damage was reported throughout the building,  with significant fire damage on the second and third floor.
