Six Rescued From Rocks After Boat Sinks

BRANFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Six people were pulled from the rocks off Kelsey’s Island in Branford after their boat sank.

Branford Deputy Fire Chief Ron Mullen tells the New Haven Register  the 18-foot boat began drifting after experiencing engine trouble Sunday.

The boaters tried to get a tow from a friend on a personal watercraft, but waves and wind pushed the boat into the rocks and it sank.

The occupants jumped into the water and swam to the rocky area where firefighters rescued them. No one suffered any serious injuries.
