STORRS, Conn. (AP) _ The University of Connecticut and Webster Bank have signed a major sponsorship deal that will help the school fund its planned basketball practice facility.
Neither side would release the financial details of the marketing package, but said Thursday it will make the bank a top sponsor of the school.
In addition to the basketball center, the deal also involves community programing, media, hospitality, and venue signage. The bank also will be allowed to use the school’s image for branding, promotions, and marketing.
The school says the deal affects the entire university with a major focus on athletics and the Alumni Association.
The school has been trying to raise about $40 million for the planned Basketball Development Center, which they plan to build next to the Gampel Pavilion arena.
