Odor Prompts Evacuation Of Research Building At Health Center

Workers have returned to the Cell and Genome Sciences Building at the UConn Health Center campus in Farmington after a chemical odor prompted an evacuation lasting about an hour this morning.  The building at 400 Farmington Avenue is where scientists conduct stem sell research.  The building,  located about half a mile from the main entrance,  is not involved in any direct patient care.

A Health Center spokesman saive five labs were evacuated as a precaution.  There was no explosion and no fire,  and no illnesses have been reported.
