Arrest In Farmington BB School Bus Shooting

A 19-year-old Farmington man has been arrested on charges of shooting a BB gun at a school bus, injuring two children.

Nicholas Chiarillo faces charges including assault, criminal mischief, and reckless endangerment.

Farmington Police Lieutenant Marshall Porter said a side window on the bus was blown out.

“Officers found two children injured.  They were ages 9 and 11,” Porter said.  “They had small lacerations.”

The older child, a girl, was hit in the face by the BB.  The younger child, a boy, was cut on the knee by broken glass.

The bus was taking children home from the Winding Trails Recreation Area at the time of the Tuesday afternoon incident.
