New Britain police are looking into a possible kidnap attempt Friday.  Police say an 11-year-old told them she was in the Park Drive-Uncas Road area when a man in a mini-van approached her.  She told police that when she rebuffed him, he drove off, but made a U-turn back toward her and got out of the vehicle.  She ran home and called police.

Police say she described the driver as an older man with a grey beard and grey hair,  and said  the vehicle was a grey mini-van,  dirty aroiund the bottom,  with a defective door handle.  She said the license number included an “X.”

New Britain police ask anyone with information about the incident at about 8 a.m. to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 860-826-3135.
