Farmington Police closed Route 4, Farmington Avenue, Monday afternoon after a car-pedestrian accident at the main entrance to the University of Connecticut Health Center.

Police say a man who had just gotten off a bus was seriously injured when he was hit while attempting to cross the road.  The driver stopped.

Police say about a dozen people were on the bus.

The hospital property can be entered from Middle Road, while Route 4 was closed after the early afternoon accident until about 4 p.m.
