State police say they arrested two people and seized a cache of illegal fireworks being sold in Waterbury. Police say they received a tip about illegal sale of fireworks at 263 Perkins Avenue in Waterbury. A search of the residence found a large amount of explosives and illegal fireworks, and developed information about storage of even more material.
That led to a search warrant for a mobile storage container located behind Brass City Hyundai on Watertown Avenue in Waterbury, where more explosives and commercial fireworks were seized.
47-year-old Karen Lavallee of Prospect and 44-year-old Thomas Cianciola of Wolcott were arrested in the course of the investigation. Both are charged with illegal possession of explosives and illegal possession of fireworks.
