Hartford Police say they’ve arrested a 67-year-old man in connection with an attempted abduction last month.
Police say bystanders saw the man try to lure a 13-year-old into his car on Capen Street. They confronted him and he left. The teen was not harmed.
Police say witnesses helped detectives identify the vehicle, which led them to Manuel Ramos of Hartford. Police say he confessed to the attempt. He’s held on charges of second degree criminal attempt to commit sexual assault, criminal attempted risk of injury of a minor and second degree breach of peace in lieu of $75,000 bond.
Mayor Pedro Segarra praised the members of the community who intervened and supported the investigation by the Sex Offender Registry Unit.
