Hartford police are searching for the man who robbed the People’s Bank at 290 Franklin Avenue on Saturday afternoon. Police say the robber passed a note to a teller around 12:10 p.m. and left with an undisclosed amount of $50 bills. No weapon was seen or implied.

The suspect is described as a white male with black hair, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and about 170 pounds. He was wearing a red T-shirt with a Red Sox logo on it, light blue jean shorts and white sneakers.

Police believe the man fled north on Franklin Avenue on foot after the robbery. They say the suspect may frequent the area of Franklin Avenue and Benton Street.
