GPS Tracked Inmate On Probation To Scene Of Arson

After a fire swept through a vacant building at 251-253-255 Central Street in Springfield Sunday,  arson investigators determined the blaze in the boarded-up building had been set.

Detectives determined a man living just down the block,  at 263 Central Street,   had been out of prison for four months after serving a ten year sentence for arson,  and as they investigated, learned that 33-year-old Jeremy Morin wore a GPS tracking device.  They were able to track Morin to the building where the fire had started.  He’s charged with arson and held in lieu of $150,000 bond.
