Tentative Agreement To Avoid New London Public Safety Layoffs

New London’s mayor has reached tentative agreements with unionized firefighters and police officers, to help balance the city’s budget.  Mayor Daryl Finizio says the agreements will save the jobs of 25 firefighters and ten police officers.

Finizio would not say what changed are being made to the contracts,  but does say they will save the city money and help eliminate the deficit.

Union members and the city council must still approve the deals.
