Thieves Take Blind Woman’s Debit Card

Torrington police are looking for someone who stole a debit card from a blind woman then drained her account. The woman,  who lives on a fixed income, says about $500 was taken, in early May,  leaving her with no funds for the month.

Police say released surveillance photos showing two male suspects using the card at banks and businesses around Torrington,  including the Walmart and the Stop and Shop in Torrington and Northwest Community Bank in Winsted.  They described the two as white men,  one of medium build and one heavier,  with a full beard.  They were driving what was described as a newer model Pontiac Grand Prix or Grand A with a moon roof and white decals on the top portion of the windshield.

Anyone with information is asked to call investigating officer Dustin Baldis at the Torrington Police Department, (860) 489-2007.
