NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) – An 18-year-old Hamden man has been charged with murder in a fatal shooting outside a New Haven grocery store.
Police say Brandon Harper killed 20-year-old Tyrell Trimble, who was shot on the afternoon of May 15 outside the Stop & Shop plaza on Elm Street.
Witnesses told police Trimble was attacked by at least one masked gunman who fled in a van with Pennsylvania plates.
Police say more arrests are expected, but would not comment on reports that the shooting was gang related.
Harper was already in police custody on drug charges. His bond was set at $2 million on the murder charge.
