Farmington Burglary Suspect May Be Linked To Other Recent Burglaries

Farmington Police say a suspect arrested in a weekend break-in is also the suspect in a string of recent residential burglaries.

Police say after getting a call early Sunday from a resident about a break-in at his house,  officers searching with a police dog found a suspect walking in the area  and were able to find a backpack and clothing nearby.  Police say the resident identified him as the man he had spotted in his house;   the clothing matched the caller’s description of the person he caught in his home on Winterwood Terrace,  and items found in the backpack, including beer, wine, tools, and GPS units, were traced as having been stolen from nearby houses or cars.

Police arrested 21-year-old William Lawson of Farmington on various burglary, larceny and trespass charges.  Police say items found in his home can be traced to other recent residential burglaries,  and they expect to file additional charges.
