Former State Trooper Charged With Prostitution
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) — A former Connecticut state trooper is accused of running a prostitution business with her husband.
State police arrested 43-year-old Pearl Kelly-Paris of New Britain on Thursday, charging her with prostitution, promoting prostitution and conspiracy to promote prostitution.
Her husband, Jaykuan Paris, was arrested in November on a charge of promoting prostitution.
According to his arrest warrant, a 21-year-old witness told authorities she used to work as a prostitute for Jaykuan Paris out of two motels in Rocky Hill, and that his wife also would work for him.
Kelly-Paris, who left the state police in 2010 and has no listed phone number, could not be reached for comment Friday. It was not clear if she has hired an attorney.
She is free on $50,000 bond and due court on June 11.
