Police: Vernon Man Was Growing Pot

VERNON, Conn. (AP) – A 48-year-old Vernon man faces numerous drug charges after police raided a home and seized 27 marijuana plants.

Randy Colburn also was charged Thursday with risk of injury to a minor and police say three children were taken from the home and placed in custody of the Department of Children and Families.

Members of the East Central Narcotics task force say they got a warrant to search the home after receiving information about drug activity there.

They say they seized about 4 pounds of marijuana along with scales, packaging, lights, fans and other drug paraphernalia. They also found a .50 caliber black powder gun.

It was unclear if Colburn has a lawyer. He was being held in lieu of $75,000 bond.
