Guard Members Heading For Afghanistan

Eighty airmen from the Connecticut National Guard have been mobilized for deployment to Afghanistan.  The members of the 103rd Air Control Squadron of Orange will be responsible for control of coalition airspace in the region for Operation Enduring Freedom.

There are currently more than 170 Connecticut National Guard soldiers and airmen deployed to Southwest Asia.  A sendoff ceremony is planned at the state armory Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
