A female University of Hartford student was assaulted at around 3 a.m. this morning by four non-students, two men and two women. It happened in a parking lot outside Residential Complex C.
The victim is OK and back at her campus residence. The four suspects were leaving campus when public safety stopped them and they were later arrested by Hartford police on charges ranging from disorderly conduct to third-degree assault.
This comes just a little over a month after a Trinity College student was viciously beaten right off of his campus in Hartford. That happened on March 4. University of Hartford Spokesman David Isgur says each incident of assault is handled in an extremely serious manner and this one was no different, regardless of what happened at Trinity.
“I wouldn’t say there’s a heightened sense of concern, because we’re always concerned when there’s an incident of this nature,” explained Isgur.
Hartford police along with UHart public safety are further investigating the incident.
