Gang Leader Pleads Guilty In Accidental Death Of Gang Member

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) _ A former Bridgeport gang leader has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and a weapon charge in the accidental killing of a fellow gang member during a melee two years ago.

The Connecticut Post reports that 20-year-old Sean Davidson entered the pleas Monday in Bridgeport Superior Court. A prosecutor says he’ll recommend a 15-year prison term when Davidson is sentenced June 22.

Police say Davidson accidentally shot 16-year-old fellow East Side Boyz gang member Anthony “Boobie” Padilla in the head during a confrontation with the rival Stack Boyz outside a community center on Feb. 19, 2010. Davidson was charged with murder, but pleaded to lesser charges.

A Stack Boyz member, Johnny Hyman, initially was charged in the killing, but police cleared him after determining Davidson shot Padilla while firing at Hyman.
