Hartford Police Seeking Help In Possible Crash Death

Hartford Police today appealed to the public for help, as they investigate the death of a man found gravely injured on Plainfield Street.

Police say they are leaning towards a motor vehicle crash, as the cause of 39-year-old Dartanyon Blake’s death.

Detectives found motor vehicle glass at the scene, but they say that is the only evidence they have so far.

Blake’s father, Larry Livingston says it is excruciating, not knowing what happened to his son.

Livingston said his son had a good, jovial attitude.

“This accident obviously was very painful for him, but he had a courageous attitude, and he was a fighter,” Livingston said.

Blake was found on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 15.  He died twelve days later in the hospital.

Livingston said his son had been able to follow doctors’ instructions to move his legs, and that his son was able to recognize and communicate with his loved ones, while he was in the hospital.

Livingston said if his son had lived, he would have been able to walk again.

His family said Blake was a father, and had a fiance.
