Two Arrests In October Homicide

Police from New Britain, Bristol,  and the Central Emergency Response Team (including Bristol, Plainville and Southington) took two men into custody in Bristol early Thursday morning in an investigation of a homicide in New Britain in October.

Police obtained arrest warrants for 22-year-old Juan Rivera and 24-year-old Victor Gonzalez ,  charging they were involved in the shooting death of 22-year-old John “Mikey” Martinez October 2.  Police say he died a short time after he was dropped off at the Hospital of Central Connecticut.

Rivera and Gonzalez were arrested at Rivera’s home on Wolcott Street in Bristol.   Rivera is charged with murder,  conspiracy to commit murder and carrying pistol or revolver without a permit.  He’s held in lieu of $1.6 million bail.  Gonzalez is charged with criminal liability for the acts of another in the murder and conspiracy and held in lieu of a million dollars bond.

Police say they expect to make more arrests.
