Woman Charged In Theft Of Father’s Sports Memorabilia

NORWALK, Conn. (AP) _ A 21-year-old Stratford woman has been charged with stealing more than $28,000 worth of sports memorabilia from her father including a 1933 World Series program and a Super Bowl I program.

The Advocate of Stamford reports  that Stephanie Bernier was arraigned at Norwalk Superior Court on Monday on felony larceny and conspiracy charges. A 29-year-old Stratford man, Daniel Scott, was also arraigned Monday on a conspiracy charge.

Police say Bernier’s father discovered the memorabilia missing from his Westport home in January. He recovered about $24,000 worth of items from a Stratford memorabilia dealer, who sold another $4,100 worth of collectibles on eBay. Police say the dealer is trying to recover the items sold online.

Bernier and Scott are being held on bail. It’s not clear if they have lawyers.
