Ben & Jerry’s Releases Flavor In Support Of Gay Marriage

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (CBS Connecticut) — Ben & Jerry’s, the famous duo who brought the world such flavors as “Cherry Garcia,” “Phish Food,” and “Schweddy Balls,” is now bringing a new flavor into the mix in support of gay marriage in the United Kingdom.

The flavor, “Apple-y Ever After,” is an apple pie-flavored ice cream with pie crust and apple chunks. The carton features two men on top of a wedding cake.

Ben & Jerry’s started a letter writing campaign to urge members of the U.K. Parliament to support gay marriage. They also renamed their renowned “Chubby Hubby” to “Hubby Hubby” in support of gay marriage in Vermont, the company’s home state.

In addition to getting involved in the gay marriage issue, Ben & Jerry’s has long used its products for other forms of activism.

They previously showed support for the Occupy movement and even distributed free ice cream to protesters in Washington, D.C.

However, if you want to try “Apple-y Ever After,” you’re going to have to go a long way to get a pint. It’s only available in the U.K.and there are no plans to bring it to the states.
