Former UConn QB Signs With Tampa Bay

Former UConn quarterback Dan Orlovsky,   a former quarterback with the Detroit Lions and the Houston Texans who played for the Indianapolis Colts following Peyton Manning’s neck injury last year,  has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a free agent.

The Bucaneers website says Orlovosky signed a two-year, $2.5 million dollar deal.  He’ll play behind Tampa Bay starter Josh Freeman Josh Freeman.  The Buc’s other quarterback,  Josh Johnson, is now an unrestricted free agent.

Orlovsky,  who is from Shelton, started for UConn from 2001 to to 2004,  is UConn’s all-time leader in touchdown passes (84,) pass completions (916,) yards per game (232.7)  and net yards (10, 706.)
