South Windsor Mourns Retired Police Dog

South Windsor Police say retired police canine Boris, a nine-year-old German Shepherd, has died of natural causes.

Boris served the department from July 2004 to December 2008– tracking suspects, helping to locate missing persons, and recovering evidence. Police say Boris and his handler, Agent Glenn Buonanducci also did community outreach demonstrations, explaining the role and function of a police canine to numerous community groups.

Boris lived with Buonanducci during his training and years of service, and continued to live with the Buonanducci family in retirement.
