Robbery Suspect Tosses Cash

State Police say a suspect they were pursuing after a bank robbery Monday began throwing cash out the window of his vehicle as he fled.

Police say a man with a knife held up the First Niagara Bank on Main Street in Hebron shortly after 2 p.m. and fled on foot to his vehicle,  which was spotted by troopers who began chasing him.

Police used “stop sticks” and the vehicle went off the road in Marlborough.  32-year-old Paul Albert of West Hartford was taken into custody.  Police say they found the knife and most of the stolen cash in his vehicle.  Troopers were picking up more money from the roadway.

Albert faces a variety of charges and is due in court on Tuesday.
