New Task Force Makes Arrest In Double Shooting

New Haven Police say their new Shooting Task Force has made its first arrest,  just days after it was established.

24-year-old Gary Williams was arrested,  charged in the shooting of two men at Poplar Street and Chatham Street in December.  One was shot in ther leg and arm,  the other in the knee.  Police say they found .40 caliber shootings at the scene.

When Wallingford Police got some information about the shooting, they informed New Haven Police,  who obtained a search warrant for Williams’ residence,  where they found a 40 caliber Glock with its serial number partially filed off as well as an assault rifle.  Williams is charged with assault and weapons charges.
