Waterbury Woman Killed In Wrong-Way Accident

A 20-year-old Waterbury woman was killed when her car collided head-on with another vehicle on Interstate 84 in Waterbury around 11 last night. Police say Amanda Grenier was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes when her Volvo collided with a RAV4 crossover vehicle owned by the Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, Connecticut.

Her passenger, 21-year-old Kaleigh Morgan, and the other driver, 51-year-old Monica Evens, were treated for their injuries at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Police say the accident remains under investigation and they are asking anyone with information about the accident to call the Southbury Barracks of the State Police, 203-267-2200.
