Data Breach At CCSU
Central Connecticut State University says a computer virus has infected a computer in the school business office — potentially exposing personal information of more than 18-thousand current and former faculty, staff and student workers.
The school is moving to offer identity theft protection to more than 18-thousand present and former faculty, staff and student workers after a “Z-bot” tracking virus was detected.
A spokesman says only Social Security numbers — not names and addresses — of people who have worked for the school since 1998 could have been exposed, but says a forensic examination has not determined whether any information has been misused.
