NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) – Next week is Sex Week at Yale University.
The biennial event begins Saturday and includes talks and workshops on topics ranging from pornography, to contraception and sexual harassment.
The keynote address will be given by Ann Olivarius, a lawyer who was a plaintiff in the landmark court case Alexander vs. Yale which helped shape sex discrimination and harassment law in the 1970s.
There also will be an appearance by a porn star, Maggie Mayhem.
There have been calls to eliminate Sex Week in the wake of a Title IX investigation into the school’s sexual climate.
But school president Richard Levin agreed to allow university facilities to be used for the event after organizers submitted a proposal that detailed how each event would serve an educational purpose.
