Norwalk Police are looking for a missing 7-month old infant.
Investigators say little Emily Acevedo was last seen with her mother Kelley Acevedo yesterday.
In a silver alert message, police describe the child as endangered.
The mother had the baby with her in court yesterday. The mother failed to return to an inpatient treatment program after the court appearance.
The baby has been in the custody of the state Department of Children and Families, according to police.
Norwalk Superior Court Public Defender James Lamontagne represented the mother in court yesterday in a shoplifting case.
“She was here on a larceny six charge, and she pleaded guilty to that and got a suspended sentence, and was put on a period of probation,” Lamontagne said.
Lamontagne said the mother seemed to have a normal demeanor during her court appearance.
The mother has a past conviction for reckless endangerment.
Kelley Acevedo is in hear early 30′s, with blond hair and blue eyes. She is about 5-foot 6-inches tall, and heavyset.
