UConn Starts Fundraising For Stadium Project

STORRS, Conn. (AP) _ The University of Connecticut has started a fundraising effort to upgrade or build new stadiums for its soccer, baseball and softball programs.

The school said Tuesday that all three projects will be entirely funded by private donations.

It’s not clear how much money the school is hoping to raise. Officials say the projects are in the early planning stages and their scope has not been determined.

UConn also has been raising money for a planned basketball practice facility, which is expected to cost about $35 million.

It has so far raised about $16 million for that project.
