Pounds Of Pot Seized In Suffield

Suffield Police have seized roughly 30 pounds of marijuana shipped via FexEx from an address in Arizona, said authorities.

The seizure was made Tuesday afternoon at a parking business on South Street. Police say the marijuana was dipped in a substance to mask the odor.

Police say the owner of the business was contacted by a recently-terminated employee informing him that he was expecting a package, though no name was on the package. The employee in question showed up at the business, but never actually took possession of the package, said authorities.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and they expect to make an arrest.

Authorities say the pot has an estimated street value of between $50,000 and $60,000.
