$1 Million More In Donations For Basketball Practice Center

STORRS, Conn. (AP) _ The University of Connecticut has receiving another $1 million to help build a new basketball practice facility on campus.

The school said Friday that the money is coming from two donors who wish to anonymous.

The donations come on the heels of last month’s $4.5 million gift for the facility from a Woodbridge couple, Peter and Pam Werth.

The school is planning to fund the $30 million, 70,000-square foot facility entirely through private donations.

UConn hasn’t announced a timetable for construction of the building. It will include dedicated practice gyms for the men’s and women’s basketball programs, locker rooms, coaches’ offices and areas for academic support, video analysis, sports medicine and strength training.
