Police: Branford Man Used Internet To Stalk Girls

Guilford Police have arrested a 23-year-old Branford man on charges that he used the internet to stalk and entice underage girls.  Police say Michael Azzaro, who was arrested Saturday morning, tried to persuade underage girls to perform graphic sexual acts, meet up with him, and become his girlfriend.

Police say they launched an investigation several weeks ago after a parent discovered online conversations between his daughter and Azzaro. Police say they’ve identified a dozen alleged victims so far, ranging in age from 14 to just under 16.

Azzaro faces nine counts of risk of injury and impairing the morals of a minor, 12 counts of disorderly conduct, and eight counts of enticing a minor. He’s expected to remain in custody on $250,000 bond pending arraignment Monday in New Haven Superior court.
