Chihuahua Killed In Pit Bull Attack

Farmington Police have issued infractions to the owner of two Pit Bulls after the dogs attacked a Chihuahua, and one of them killed the smaller dog, said police.

Police received a 911 call from a resident on Oakland Avenue Tuesday afternoon, reporting that two Pit Bull were attacking her Chihuahua on her front step, said authorities. The woman told police that she attempted to bring her dog inside, but the Pit Bulls followed her into the house, where one of them continued the attack, eventually killing the Chihuahua.

Police have euthanized the dog responsible for the killing. The second Pit Bull remains in custody and is being evaluated by police.

Police say the owner of the dogs, Shakeem Anderson, faces infractions of allowing a dog to roam, having unlicensed dogs, and having nuisance dogs.
