Giants fans looking forward to using Metro-North Railroad services to the Giants game this Sunday will have to find another way to travel.

Direct service from New Haven to the Meadowlands football game this Sunday January 1, 2012 has been cancelled.

Due to the playoff implications for New York and Dallas, the National Football League has exercised its right to “flex-time” the Giants vs. Cowboys football game time from 1 p.m. to 8:20 p.m.

The NFL’s decision to move their “game of the week” into the nightly prime-time spot has caused Metro-North to cancel their services because there will not be enough time to cycle the train cars after a midnight trip to New Haven, back to Trenton or other southern New Jersey train terminals before the Monday morning rush.
