Alpacas Killed At Essex Farm

State police are investigating the deaths of four alpacas found stabbed to death on a farm in Essex Friday morning.

Police say the attack was not by a wild animal,  but by someone with a cutting instrument,  and followed at least two other deaths at the farm in recent months, including one  which the animal autopsy showed had been shot.

Investigators are asking anyone who saw a vehicle along Bushy Hill Road in Essex Thursday overnight to call State Police.

The Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association called the crime senseless and reprehensible, and called for the perpetrators to be caught and punished.
