BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) _ A state representative has been arrested on a drunken-driving charge following a traffic stop in Bristol.

Bristol police say Rep. Bruce “Zeke” Zalaski of Southington was arrested early Wednesday morning.

The 61-year-old lawmaker was released on bail and is due to appear in court on Jan. 3. The Democrat is in his fifth term in the state legislature where he represents an area including Southington.

No further details of the arrest were immediately available. Zalaski did not respond to calls seeking comment.
