Second Arrest In Cemetery Thefts

Waterbury police say they’ve made a second arrest in the theft of bronze statues from Riverside Cemetery.  The two statues were found at a scrapyard, but one had been damaged beyond repair. 22-year-old Donald Petruzzi of Waterbury was charged with larceny and conspiracy,  as well as interference with a cemetery or burial ground and unlawful sale of gravestones.

He was held in lieu of $35,000 bond.

Petruzzi is the second suspect arrested in the thefts. Earlier, 21-year-old Jonathon Leveille of Plantsville was arrested in the case.
