Movie Star Sells Pomfret House

Renee Zellweger is selling her house in Pomfret.

The asking price for the eighteenth-century Cotton Tavern is $1.5-million

Details about the house are included in a brochure.

The actress bought the house in 2004 for $1.3-million, according to town records.

She added landscaping for privacy, and updated the house and other buildings.

The purchase price, plus the cost of the renovations total more than the asking price, according to an agent handling the sale.

According to real estate agent Jonathan Radford, the actress used the property as a weekend retreat, and often entertained friends and family there.

In town records, the property’s owner is listed as the East Coast Trust.
