Torrington Man Held On Child Pornography Charge After Police Search His Apartment

A Torrington man is under arrest, charged with possession of child pornography and possession of a controlled substance, after police served a search warrant on his apartment at 59 Center Street first floor rear on Wednesday. Police say they found 165 photographs and 54 videos of child pornography on a computer owned by 25-year-old Andrew Pattrell.According to police, most of the photos and videos appear to involve children under the age of 10.

The city’s animal control officer responded to the scene and removed three turtles and a ferret that were living in unsanitary conditions.

Police say the drug charge stems from 14 Valium tablets that were not prescribed to Pattrell and were not in their original container. Pattell is being held on a $100,000 bond for arraignment in Bantam Superior Court on Thursday.
