STORRS, Conn. (AP) – The University of Connecticut has launched a new shuttle bus service connecting its flagship Storrs campus with the UConn Health Center in Farmington.

The service runs four times each weekday from 7:50 a.m. to 5:05 p.m. and is free for UConn students, faculty and staff members who show identification. It kicked off service Monday.

UConn Provost Peter Nicholls says students and faculty on the campuses are working together more closely than ever before in many fields, and that the new shuttle service will help promote those collaborations.

UConn’s Farmington campus includes its medical and dental schools, John Dempsey Hospital, professional offices, bioscience research labs and other facilities.

The shuttle will stop outside Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts on the Storrs campus and at the Health Center’s academic entrance.
