HARTFORD, Conn- Governor Dannel P. Malloy is sending out an invitation to Connecticut residents to attend a holiday open house this weekend.
From December 2nd through the 4th, Malloy is opening his home to Connecticut residents to come enjoy a tour of his residence as well as enjoy Christmas decorations and activities.
“The Governor’s Residence truly belongs to the public, and this is a great opportunity for Connecticut families to stop by and see the house decked out in festive holiday decorations, all of which were generously donated by several local organizations,” Governor Malloy said. “Cathy and I look forward to continuing this annual holiday tradition.”
Santa Clause will be in attendance all weekend with some occasional visits by Mrs. Clause for the children’s entertainment. There will also be live entertainment throughout the weekend to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
The tour will be aided by 35 volunteers, some of whom have volunteered for over 20 years.
Visitors are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys which will be collected by the U.S. Marine Corps and donated to Toys for Tots.
The open house is located at 990 Prospect Avenue in Hartford and will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
