Three teenagers are fighting for their lives at a Massachusetts hospital following a violent crash and high-speed chase which began in Connecticut.
Douglas, Massachusetts Police Chief Patrick Foley says it began with a vehicle stolen in Thompson, Connecticut, which led police on a chase exceeding speeds of 100 miles an hour northbound on Interstate-395.
Foley says an officer in his town later clocked the vehicle doing 77 on a local street before it crashed into a fence, sheared a utility pole and rolled several times.
Police say the 15-year-old male driver from Putnam, and the front-seat passenger , a 16-year-old male from Dudley, Mass., were ejected from the vehicle, while the rear passenger, a 17-year-old female from Ware, Mass., was trapped in the back seat.
All three were taken to UMass medical center, where they were reported in critical condition.
