Man Killed By Excavator While Clearing Trees

LISBON, Conn. (AP) – State police said a Preston man was killed when he was run over by an excavator used to clear trees from a road.

The Day of New London reports that Charles Wojtkun was pronounced dead at the scene in Lisbon Sunday morning.

Police say a construction crew was clearing a sight line and that the crew started to remove a tree with the excavator. The 64-year-old Wojtkun was pinned against the tree and run over.

No other details were available.
